-Mercury Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRCY, www.mrcy.com) confirmed that it has been awarded a multi-year contract from a leading aircraft manufacturer for advanced, safety-certifiable mission computers. The mission computers will execute command and control (C2) functions for various airborne missions and platforms, and will be certified to DAL-A, the highest level of flight safety. Safety certification will include multicore and multiprocessor mission computer configurations.
“The design win solidifies a partnership of strategic importance that enables Mercury and our customer to work closely together in a low-risk environment,” said Ike Song, Mercury’s Vice President and General Manager for Mercury Mission Systems. “Our customer differentiated their C2’s solution capabilities by leveraging Mercury’s mission computing and safety certification expertise and our powerful ROCK-2 safety-certifiable compute solutions.”
The contract product development phase is being accelerated with Mercury’s ROCK-2 product line designed for mission critical and safety-critical applications. The development phase will be followed by a multiple-year manufacturing schedule and is expected to have an overall potential lifetime value of over $50M.
