-Invariant Corporation has been selected to develop, qualify, and transition to production the next-generation Javelin Tactical Trainer (JTT), incorporating Integrated Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (I-MILES) capability. The effort supports the modernization of U.S. Army training systems and ensures compatibility with both the Lightweight Command Launch Unit (LWCLU) and legacy Block I Command Launch Unit (CLU).
The JTT will replace the aging Field Tactical Trainer (FTT), preserving mission effectiveness while reducing lifecycle costs through backwards compatibility and modernized design. The system will be engineered to meet U.S. laser training requirements with growth potential for allied expansion.
Under the Statement of Work, Invariant will execute a full development lifecycle program including:
The JTT prototype will incorporate I-MILES laser engagement capability and is planned for fielding by Fiscal Year 2029 (FY29). The program includes robust cybersecurity compliance aligned with NIST SP 800-171 and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 requirements.
In addition to hardware development, the program includes delivery of comprehensive logistics and training products, including Operator and Maintenance Technical Manuals, a stand-alone Training Support Package (TSP), provisioning data compatible with the Army’s Logistics Modernization Program (LMP), and long-term sustainment planning.
“This program ensures that the next generation of Javelin warfighters will train with a system that mirrors operational capability while incorporating modern cybersecurity, manufacturing, and supportability standards,” says President Danny Levis.
