-In addition to ferrying the 2,500 th C-130, U.S. Air Force air crews flew two more C-130J Super Hercules from the Lockheed Martin facility here on Dec. 11, 2015. One aircraft is an MC-130J Commando II assigned to the Air Force Special Operations Command at Hurlburt Field, Florida. The other is an HC-130J Combat King II assigned to Air Combat Command at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia.
The MC-130J Commando II is a multimission combat transport/special operations tanker, while the HC-130J Combat King II is the U.S. Air Force's only dedicated fixed-wing personnel recovery platform that performs tanking operations.
