-Aptima, Inc., which applies expertise in how humans think, learn, and behave to solve challenges faced by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), has been selected to the 2017 “Top Simulation and Training Companies” by MS&T Magazine. Since its founding in 1995, Aptima has been at the forefront of optimizing human performance to ensure that training leads to quantifiably better prepared Warfighters. In addition to being named a Top Company for the 12th consecutive year, Aptima was recognized with a Blue Ribbon for its innovation in the industry.
At a time when adversaries are working hard to narrow the technology gap, the DoD is seeking ways to maintain and increase its military dominance. Aptima is at the vanguard of using data science and analytics to accelerate learning as a force multiplier, supporting a more agile and resilient force in the face of new mission demands and higher operational tempo. “We’re thrilled to be recognized, and we’re excited how innovations in data science can improve force readiness as we enter a new era of challenges,” said Janet Spruill, Aptima’s Vice President of Programs.
“By combining the pervasive data from sensors and platforms with machine learning, we can better define high performance, better assess talent and gaps, and better sequence and deliver the right training at the right time,” Spruill added. “By moving to more adaptive and responsive training, we also accelerate learning and preparedness. This will move training from an occasional one-size-fits-all event to more continuous, personalized, guided learning for individuals and teams, whether for immediate mission requirements or broader, career goals.”
