-WB GROUP has been selected by the European Commission as a founding member of the EU-Ukraine Drone Alliance – the first cooperation platform bringing together European and Ukrainian industry. WB GROUP contributes decades of experience in the design and production of unmanned systems, as well as a long-standing industrial presence in Ukraine.
WB GROUP is among the leading developers of multidomain reconnaissance-strike systems based on a network-centric C4ISR UxS architecture. The company’s solutions integrate unmanned platforms, battlefield management systems, sensors, and effectors into a unified operational environment, shortening the sensor-to-shooter cycle and increasing target engagement effectiveness.
The EU-Ukraine Drone Alliance has been established by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS) under the Drone Deal initiative. The platform responds to the need to accelerate the development of the European Union’s unmanned and counter-UAS capabilities by leveraging industrial expertise and the lessons learned from the war in Ukraine.
– The war in Ukraine has demonstrated that the development of unmanned systems must be driven by close cooperation and knowledge exchange between industry and end users. The EU-Ukraine Drone Alliance creates a framework for bringing these lessons to the European level. We are pleased to have been part of this initiative from the very beginning – said Piotr Wojciechowski, President of WB GROUP.
Members of the EU-Ukraine Drone Alliance will jointly shape the future direction of unmanned technologies, develop recommendations for future European programmes, and contribute solutions supporting the growth of shared industrial and operational capabilities.
The founding members include Europe’s and Ukraine’s leading companies developing unmanned technologies and actively contributing to the European drone ecosystem. The European Commission selected a limited group of just nine unmanned systems manufacturers from the European Union and nine from Ukraine.
WB GROUP’s inclusion among the founding members reflects the company’s position as one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of unmanned systems. For more than 30 years, the Polish company has been designing and manufacturing advanced reconnaissance, command-and-control, and strike systems used by the armed forces of NATO member states and Ukraine.
One of the foundations of these capabilities is WB GROUP’s long-standing presence in Ukraine. This includes equipment deliveries, close cooperation with the Ukrainian Armed Forces and government agencies, as well as industrial collaboration encompassing the joint development of advanced unmanned systems and their production through the company’s Ukrainian operations.
