UK MoD Chinook Support Contract Boost for Vector Aerospace Almondbank

Vector Aerospace UK  a leading provider of aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, has announced that Vector Component Services (UK) based at Almondbank, Perthshire, will share in a £420 million order that extends the support programme for the RAF's fleet of 60 Chinook heavy-lift helicopters.

Chinook component work at Vector Component Services (UK) The contract, announced by Prime Minister David Cameron during a visit to Portsmouth on 17 February, will see a five year continuation of the Through Life Customer Support (TLCS) programme whereby Vector Aerospace provides maintenance, repair and overhaul for the Chinook under contract to Boeing,

the manufacturer of the helicopter. Vector's Almondbank facility carries out precision testing, overhaul and repair on key components, including rotorheads and gearboxes, that are vital for the Chinook's successful and safe operation.
