Thales expands its Mistral solution with a new platform for very high-speed encrypted links

On the occasion of the Assises de la Sécurité in Monaco taking place from October 7 to 10, 2026, Thales is unveiling the IP9100, a new very high-speed platform joining its Mistral range of encryptors. The Mistral range is designed to protect sensitive networks within the most demanding critical infrastructures across all sectors, including defence, transport, water and energy.

Built for high-performance deployments such as data centre interconnects, the encryptor supports data rates of up to several hundred gigabits per second.

The IP9100 continues the legacy of the Mistral range, which safeguards communications wherever data volume, latency and robustness are critical. In line with the rest of the range, it will integrate post-quantum cryptography algorithms.

Currently qualified for 100 Gbps full-duplex operation, the platform's modular architecture provides a fast upgrade path to meet future network throughput requirements (e.g. 4 × 40 Gbps, 2 × 100 Gbps, 1 × 200 Gbps).

"The growth of network infrastructure and the need to secure data centres call for solutions that can combine security and performance. With the IP9100, the Mistral range is the only sovereign solution capable of protecting critical networks at very high speeds," says Olivier Besson, Director of Cyberprotection Activities at Thales.

The IP9100 platform, intended to secure the critical infrastructure networks of operators of vital importance and defence stakeholders, will enable the protection of data up to Diffusion Restreinte (France), EU RESTRICTED and NATO RESTRICTED levels. Customer deliveries are set to begin in the first quarter of 2027.
