Patria, Finland and Latvia Sign Life Cycle Management Contract Within CAVS Programme

-

Patria has signed a Life Cycle Management (LCM) contract with Finland and Latvia for the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme, based on Patria 6x6 vehicle. Other CAVS countries may join the contract later. The contract will expand the CAVS commonality principle and secure co-operation and cost efficiency for the whole lifecycle of the system.

In the contract parties jointly agree on delivery of lifecycle management services necessary to carry out the sustainment of the CAVS vehicles and related capabilities through entire fleet lifecycle. The contract will increase the national security of supply within the partner nations due to common lifecycle management services and products. The CAVS LCM contract is based on Patria OPTIME service concept that is a modular service model tailored to the customer needs and requirements covering a broad range of services and solutions impacting the fleet availability.

The CAVS programme currently includes Finland, Latvia, Sweden and Germany. After the inclusion of the LCM contract, the programme includes three frame agreements: research and development, manufacturing and sustainment, and the contractual structure for the whole lifecycle management.

Mats Warstedt, Senior Vice President, Nordics:” I'm excited that CAVS programme is entering into the sustainment phase by the signing of this CAVS LCM contract, which will secure long-term co-operation for always keeping the fleets fully operational. At the same time this CAVS LCM contract is the first Patria OPTIME-based contract, which is also a significant milestone for this customer-tailored service concept.“

Patria 6x6 vehicle was chosen as the joint platform for the multinational CAVS programme in 2020. The CAVS-related Patria 6x6 vehicle deliveries are ongoing to Latvia, Finland and Sweden. Patria has already received orders for nearly 700 Patria 6x6 vehicles. The programme is open to European countries with similar equipment requirements, subject to participating nations’ approval.
