Marine Aircraft Crashes in US Central Command Region

A U.S. Marine Corps aircraft crashed at 2:00 p.m. (GMT), today, at sea in the U.S. Central Command Area of Responsibility.

All personnel have been safely recovered and are aboard a U.S. Navy ship that was operating nearby. Three individuals are reported to have sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash.

The crash was not a result of hostile activity.

The Navy and Marine Corps will investigate the cause of the crash.

Additional details will be made available once family members have been notified.
