-MTU Maintenance, an MRO company specialised in customised solutions for aero engines, has signed a three-year maintenance, repair, and overhaul contract with Jazeera Airways.
As per the agreement, MTU Maintenance will oversee MRO work related to the CFM56-5B engines that power the airline’s fleet of A320 aircraft.
A long-standing and reputed within the global MRO space, the team at MTU Maintenance hold extensive experience working on over 30 engine models and reportedly performs 1,000 shops visits annually. In addition to presence in the UAE, the company operates MRO facilities in Canada, China, and Germany.
An independent service provider for the CFM56-3/-5B/-7B variants, the company recently reported increased demand for -5b services. In the past 12 months alone, MTU Maintenance has picked up six new -5b customers.
The newly-minted contract with Jazeera Airways marks MTU Maintenance’s first entry into the Kuwaiti aviation market.
Founded back in 2004, Jazeera Airways is the first non-government owned airline in the Middle East and one of the largest private airlines based in Kuwait. The airline reportedly flies over 2.2 million passengers to 26 destinations across Europe, India, and the Middle East.
