-Honeywell Aerospace (Nasdaq: HONA) today announced the launch of its International Tactical Advanced Land Inertial Navigator (iTALIN) 550 surface navigation system, a platform designed to deliver reliable, high-precision navigation for military and commercial ground vehicles operating in demanding environments.
Jointly developed by Honeywell Aerospace in the Czech Republic and its subsidiary Civitanavi Systems in Italy, iTALIN 550 is a drop-in replacement for Honeywell’s existing TALIN 500 with improved navigation performance and enhanced alignment capabilities, including reduced alignment times in a smaller, modernized system.
iTALIN 550 supports accurate positioning, navigation, timing and stabilization even in environments where satellite signals may be degraded or unavailable, a critical component of modern defense missions.

Developed and manufactured entirely within Europe, iTALIN 550 is free from U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) restrictions and from any other U.S. export control, enabling streamlined export and integration for international customers and programs.
iTALIN 550 is the first in a planned family of European-developed tactical navigation solutions built on Honeywell Aerospace’s fiber optic gyro (FOG) technology. The FOG-based architecture enables performance to be scaled upward within the same physical envelope and with identical interfaces — allowing customers to adopt higher-capability variants as mission requirements evolve without changes to vehicle integration or existing system configurations.
“Our scalable approach provides long-term investment protection and positions iTALIN 550 as the foundation of a growing European indigenous inertial navigation portfolio,” Guasto added.
Following initial limited availability in the fourth quarter of 2026, full-scale production will begin in the first quarter of 2027. The launch timeline allows users to evaluate the system and prepare for integration ahead of live deployment.
