-Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) has received $27 million in orders from the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) for Falcon III ® manpack and handheld tactical radios.
USSOCOM is acquiring additional Falcon III wideband AN/PRC-117G manpack and AN/PRC-152A AN/PRC-152A handheld radios as it continues to deploy its NSA-accredited wideband tactical communications network. The radios enable Special Operations Forces (SOF) to extend secure wideband networking to the tactical edge, in addition to critical terrestrial and ground-to-air communications.
"The Harris Falcon III radios enable the SOF to stay connected wherever the tactical edge happens to be," said George Helm, president, Department of Defense business, Harris RF Communications. "Our products support SOF-unique capabilities and include a full suite of DOD waveforms to provide interoperability across all branches of the U.S Department of Defense."
