General Dynamics Mission Systems announced today it was awarded a $99 million firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for commercial technology offerings. The contract was awarded by the U.S. Army in late-September.

The Kestrel Airspace Command and Control software capability delivers services and user workflows to meet the U.S. Army’s Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) airspace and mission planning needs. Kestrel is a hardware agnostic, containerized software solution for simple integration into larger cloud-based capabilities or organically run on unit-provided hardware.

“The modern battlefield brings aircraft, uncrewed systems, fires and air defense into increasingly complex airspace,” said Rachel Oberc, vice president, General Dynamics Mission Systems. “Kestrel unifies mission planning and airspace command and control, helping operators coordinate faster and adapt as conditions change. We are committed to delivering operationally ready, adaptable capabilities that advance the Army’s NGC2 vision while keeping pace with evolving technology and mission needs.”
