DataPath, Inc., a leading provider of remote communications solutions to the aerospace, broadcast, government, and infrastructure markets, announced today that the company has been awarded a Global Tactical Advanced Communication Systems (GTACS) contract for the U.S. Army’s Assured Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Pseudolite Technology Maturation and Risk Reduction program. The award is the result of a collaborative effort between DataPath, Inc. and its former parent company Rockwell Collins, which sold the company to a private investment group in July of 2014.

DataPath has over 20 years of experience providing high performance satellite communications solutions to the US Army. Beginning with the DKET (Deployable Kit Earth Terminal) in the 90s, the company has continually supported the military with remote communications equipment and field service personnel around the globe. The new project will bolster the company’s mission of “optimizing situational awareness, security, decision-making and efficiency for critical operations, through innovative and integrated communications and information technology solutions.”

“During the five years that DataPath was part of Rockwell Collins, we shared a variety of best practices, technical capabilities, and working relationships,” said David Myers, President and CEO of DataPath. “As a result, the now independent DataPath and Rockwell Collins are uniquely positioned for a successful partnership that leverages the speed and agility of a small business with the scalability of a large organization.”

Mike Jones, Vice President and General Manager of Communication and Navigation Products for Rockwell Collins added, “By developing advanced pseudolite systems, in partnership with our colleagues at DataPath, Rockwell Collins will leverage two decades of pseudolite technology development experience, in support of the U.S. Army’s initiative to provide a high level of assured PNT on the battlefield.”
