-Curtiss-Wright today announced that it has been selected by Rheinmetall Air Defence to provide power management technology in support of the lightweight Oerlikon Skyranger® mobile ground-based air defense system. Under the contract, Curtiss-Wright will provide Rheinmetall with its ruggedized, state-of-the-art power management technology and gyroscopes to help control the mobile air defense system’s lightweight turret. The Skyranger, which can be deployed against air and ground targets at short range, is equipped with state-of-the-art search and tracking sensors which provide seamless 360° air and ground surveillance and accurate fire control data. The system has the capability to be integrated with numerous ground defense platforms, such as the Boxer, Lynx, and Pandur vehicles. Work under this agreement will be performed by Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions.
