-Cubic Corporation ( NYSE: CUB ) today announced GATR Technologies (GATR), which was recently acquired and operates within the Cubic Global Defense (CGD) business unit, will exhibit its inflatable satellite communications (SATCOM) terminals at SATELLITE 2016 held in National Harbor, Maryland from March 7 – 10. SATELLITE is the largest annual gathering for the satellite community, bringing together companies and leaders to discuss issues and technology breakthroughs.
GATR manufactures innovative satellite terminals offering easy deployment of 1.2-, 2.4-, and 4.0-meter satellite terminals with an inflatable radome and flexible parabolic reflector mounted at the equator. Dependent on the size of the antenna system, GATR’s terminals are portable, with 50-80% less volume and weight than traditional terminals, and can be packed in four or fewer cases weighing less than 100 pounds each. The antenna systems are convenient to set up and operate, taking between 15 to 60 minutes with no special tools.
“Satellite technology has a tremendous impact on the day-to-day lives of our warfighters and is transforming the way they interact and communicate with each other on and off the battlefield,” said Mike Twyman, executive vice president of communications, intelligence and surveillance systems, Cubic Global Defense. “GATR’s inflatable, portable SATCOM terminals not only provide an easy way of transporting and setup, but also enable high-bandwidth communications that impact the way information is sent and received.”
