Comtech Telecommunications Receives $1.5 M for Transportable Troposcatter Systems from an International Prime Contractor

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq: CMTL) announced today that during its third quarter of fiscal 2016, its subsidiary, Comtech Systems, Inc., has received an order from a foreign military totaling approximately $1.5 million to provide troposcatter equipment to a prime contractor for use in early testing, characterization and network integration activities as part of an upcoming deployable communications network for an Asia Pacific military.

Dr. Stanton Sloane, President and Chief Executive Officer of Comtech Telecommunications Corp., commented, “This contract further demonstrates that troposcatter has become a vital element in the deployable communications toolkit for modern militaries, providing a unique low latency, long-range beyond line of sight (BLOS) backhaul capability. Combining troposcatter with other technologies in an integrated, multi-technology network provides the flexibility and scalability required to support the wide variety of operations and mission sets required for today’s warfighter.” The terminals being purchased are the Comtech MTTS transit case tropo equipped with 500W amplifiers and the Comtech field proven 20 Mb/s modem currently in use by the U.S. Military.
